Appreciation and recognition

It's celebration time at Tata Chemicals as we have received two prestigious recognitions this week

Tata Chemicals has been ranked among the top three Indian corporates for our Sustainability and CSR practice in the Responsible Business Ranking 2020. It is an honour to receive this recognition for our efforts dedicated towards care for the environment, society and governance.

Adding another feather to our cap is our achievement in the field of nutritional sciences. We have been felicitated with the CSIR Diamond Jubilee Technology Award 2019 for our technological advancements made in the production of fructo-oligosaccharides. This award is a testimony to our expertise in technological innovations that meet the highest global standards.

The 7th Responsible Business Rankings are based on the study carried out by Futurescape that uses the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) framework. Over 90 parameters are used to map India’s top companies on ESG metrics. Key action themes for companies included renewable energy, water, waste, and data privacy.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr R Mukundan, MD & CEO, Tata Chemicals, said “Tata Chemicals is committed to supporting the society through science-led intervention with a human touch. As a responsible company, care for the environment and community has always been at the core of everything we do. Further, our work in the areas of environment, society, and governance are also benchmarked against the most stringent and global standards. Being recognised for our work in these areas will continue to motivate us to push the boundaries a little more every year and serve the community better.”

The CSIR Diamond Jubilee Technology Award 2019 is recognition of the work done by our Nutritional Sciences business, Tata NQ. The business follows a whole-cell fermentation route, using in-house patented technology to manufacture FOS.

It is a product of our vision to offer nature-inspired and science-backed ingredient and formulation. This vision has been strengthened by Tata Chemicals’ robust intellectual capital with two FOS patents granted so far and nine patents under review.
