Tata Chemicals Magadi wins at the company of the year awards 2019
Magadi: 29th November: Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited emerged winner at this year's Company of the Year Awards under the Corporate Citizenship category beating 10 companies for this prestigious award that recognizes efforts geared towards Social Responsibility and Environment sustainability.

'The responsible business conduct award won by TCML in September 2019 and the second award on corporate citizenship and environment focus won on November 2019 is a clear indication of TCML commitment to the people, the planet and quality of its products. The company has and will continue investing in communities and environment. We have consistently continued to build communities and human capital through education, promoting livelihoods and providing medical assistance to our community', says Prisca.
TCML also ranked the best under Production and Quality category at the same awards for its commitment towards operational excellence.
'Guided by our five core values of Safety, Passion, Integrity, Care and Excellence (SPICE), our teams have demonstrated their ability to consistently improve processes in order to deliver increasing customer, employee and shareholder value, while driving incremental and breakthrough improvements required for business growth,' Tata Chemicals Magadi's Senior Production Manager Wilson Lusalenge commenting on the award.
'We leverage on ISO based management approaches to make improvements and ensure adherence to the best standards. We are certified to ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems as well as ISO 22716:2007 for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). We have adopted LSS, Kaizen and 5S as part of our improvement systems to constantly raise the levels of operational excellence,' says Wilson.
The awards, held at Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi, marked an important milestone for Tata Chemicals Magadi as the company continues to cement its relationship with the Magadi Community and leverage its commitment towards sustainability and continuous improvement.
The awards came after TCML was also recognized by the Federation of Kenya Employers (Kenya's Employer Body) as the most Responsible Business at the Employer of the Year Awards 2019 and the Kenya Association of Manufacturers Energy Awards 2019 on Electricity Savings and Runners up at the same event for the Innovations in Energy Category.
