Tata Chemicals Limited shines at CII – ITC Sustainability Awards 2011

Mumbai: Tata Chemicals (TCL) won the prestigious CII ITC
Sustainability Trophy at the CII ITC annual Sustainability
Awards 2011. The awards were announced during a formal presentation
ceremony on February 10, 2012, at New Delhi in the presence
of dignitaries from government and industry.
TCL Babrala plant, won CII ITC Sustainability
Trophy for exemplary policies, practices and results.
DK Sundar, senior vice president, marketing, fertilisers, Tata
Chemicals, received the award on behalf of the Babrala unit.
This trophy is being presented for the first time since the
launch of the CII ITC Sustainability Award.
TCL Mithapur plant won the commendation certificate
for significant achievement for independent units.
Speaking on the achievement, said Mr Sundar, All TCL manufacturing
sites have demonstrated a sustainable performance in achieving
targets on their energy, water and inclusivity dimensions and
are becoming benchmark on their environmental and safety performance.
I am happy that our businesses are focused on sustainable manufacturing
and the efforts are getting recognised by CII. These prestigious
awards and recognitions help us calibrate our approach to raise
the bar and meet the emerging expectations around sustainable
performance.

The CII ITC Sustainability Awards are conferred
to Indian businesses that demonstrate excellent performance
in the area of sustainable development. Developing awards and

ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development

capacity to mainstream sustainability practices in Indian industry.

of companies. The Sustainability Awards are now into the sixth
year of existence.
