Nusli N Wadia

Director

Nusli N Wadia was appointed director of Tata Chemicals on June 26, 1981. A well-known Indian industrialist, he is the chairman of the Wadia Group of companies and also on the Board of Directors of several Indian companies.

He has contributed actively to various organisations such as the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), Millowners Association (MOA) and Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry in various positions. He is the former chairman of TEXPROCIL as well as MOA.
 
Mr Wadia was appointed on the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry from 1998 to 2004. He was the convenor of the special group task force on Food and Agro Industries Management Policy. He was a member of the special subject group to review regulations and procedures to unshackle the Indian industry and the special subject group on disinvestment, and a member of ICMF. He is on the managing committee of the Nehru Centre, Mumbai. Mr Wadia has been actively associated with leading charitable and educational institutions.
 
He is an outside director of Wadia Techno Engineering Services, The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation (chairman), Britannia Industries (chairman), Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Tata Motors, Go Airlines (India), Go Investments & Trading and seven companies based abroad.
 
He is a member on the remuneration committee of the Boards of The Bombay Dyeing & Mfg Co, Britannia Industries, Tata Motors (chairman) and Tata Chemicals (chairman); the nominations committee of the Boards of Britannia Industries (chairman) and Tata Motors (chairman); and the executive committee of the Board of The Bombay Dyeing & Mfg Co (chairman).
