Crushed refined soda

IN THIS SECTION

Crushed refined soda (CRS) is a pale green granular product obtained by crushing and washing trona, which is a naturally occurring ore at Lake Magadi, Kenya. The chemical composition is therefore similar to that of natural sodium sesquicarbonate (Na2CO3.NaHC03.2H2O).

Chemical Properties Typical
Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) 60 %
Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) 30 %
Sodium chloride (NaCl) 0.30%
Sodium flouride (NaF) 2.00 %
Water insolubles 0.40 %
Total water (H20) 4.2 %
Iron oxide (Fe2O3) 0.03%
Sodium sulphate (Na2SO4) 0.17 %
