TCE to tackle the 8 PEAKS challenge on 16th June

Tata Chemicals Europe are once again pulling on their hiking boots to raise money for
St Luke’s Hospice – this time to tackle the Lake District EIGHT Peaks Challenge!

The 17-strong team aim to complete the tough 24km challenge, climbing 8 peaks including England’s highest, Scafell Pike, in around 12 hours, on Friday 16th June 2017.

Communications Manager Richard Redman said: “Every year we strive to push ourselves to the limit in the name of charity, and this year is no exception. In recent years, we have proudly faced the elements, dealt with injuries, and struggled across finish lines. We may bring ourselves to exhaustion for one day, but it’s nothing compared to the vitally-important work that goes on at St Luke’s Hospice every day, and they need our help.”

Steven Cook, Corporate Partnerships Manager for St Luke’s Hospice, said: “We have enjoyed a great relationship with Tata for some years now and are thrilled that the team will be taking up another challenge on our behalf. Their regular challenge fundraisers have become somewhat of a pilgrimage for the team and we enjoy supporting them in return for their endeavours.

The company, with sites in Northwich and Middlewich, take on one large-scale charity challenge a year, as well as many smaller events, to raise money for the Winsford Hospice. Last year, the chemicals manufacturer completed the 34-mile Sandstone Trail, after completing the Three Peaks Challenge in 2015 – raising more than £15,000 in the process.

St Luke’s provides and facilitates the provision of outstanding supportive, palliative and end of life care to individuals, those close to them and to communities. The Hospice is part of the social movement to normalise loss and grief, supporting a healthy response to the human life cycle.

St Luke’s needs to raise £5.98 for every single minute of the palliative care they provide, so please donate if you are able to by visiting http://bit.ly/2qOsEZL.
